Soapbox is the longest serving short term missions agency in the UK. Operating projects since 1993, Soapbox sends teams of workers to missions all over the world to complete projects that will serve some of the poorest and most needy of people.

We at Philippine Outreach Centre have had the privilege of being a partner with Soapbox since 2006. Each year we have hosted a team of workers, who have given of themselves for 3 weeks to serve the Filipino people here at POCM. Completing projects such as, renovations of our "Old Girl's Home" to transform this run-down house into a Half-way Home for boys 18+ years old.

More recently, the team have spent 3 weeks painting and tiling our Boy's Home, which houses 30+ boys, it now looks like a new home inside and out, as the team have worked hard to paint the entire inside and outside of the house, including the roof!! One of the small bathrooms was completely stripped and re-tiled to give a whole new feel to this home for our boys.

During their time here at POC there is chance for them to visit various ministries, such as, Prisons and "Shine!" Children's Outreach aswell as the Church and Christian Academy.

We are truly blessed to be a part of this work and grateful for those who have sacrificed their time, efforts, finances and energy to give of themselves to bless the Filipino people.

SoapBox is known for the quality of its Short-Term Projects, which serve some of the poorest countries in the world. Each year they give people the opportunity to give of themselves on one of these projects and every year, not only are the lives of those people who live at the project locations changed but the lives of the participants are also.

In 2009, we are also returning to many of the projects that we have worked with in previous years where we know we are needed. A variety of 2 and 3-week projects means that there is something to suit everyone.
